Shiny green leaves grow on bushy plants up to 2’ tall. Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost date, then move plants outdoors. Leaves are most flavorful prior to the plant flowering. If you’re intending to dry the leaves, harvest them before flower buds appear. Flowers attract bees. 70 days to flowering. Like other members of the mint family, lemon balm can spread vigorously, and may overtake nearby plants. Grow in a planter to keep it in bounds.
